From classic models like the Jaguar XJ, Range Rover, and Audi A8 to newer models such as the NIO ES8 and BMW 5 Series, as well as electric vehicles like the XPeng G6 and Tesla Model Y, and Chery's recently launched S5X—the first aluminum-based lightweight platform in China, along with the Chery eQ7—the application of aluminum bodies has become increasingly widespread. Analysis of Aluminum Body Materials

The all-aluminum body is not entirely made of aluminum alloy. Typically, the term "all-aluminum body" refers to the main load-bearing frame structure of the vehicle body, known as the "white body," which utilizes aluminum alloy materials. However, it is important to note that to ensure safety during collisions, some critical internal structures of the white body, such as reinforcement ribs, are still manufactured using high-strength hot-formed steel. Therefore, strictly speaking, the all-aluminum body is actually a hybrid steel-aluminum design. Currently, there are no mass-produced vehicles on the market that are 100% aluminum alloy in construction. For instance, the Jaguar XFL, the brand's first domestically produced model, which once garnered attention for its all-aluminum body, actually features only 75% aluminum material in its construction. These high-strength aluminum alloys, specifically the RC5754 material developed by Novelis, play a crucial role in the body structure of the Jaguar XFL. Specifically, AC600 aluminum alloy is widely used in body reinforcements, AC300 aluminum alloy is designed for crash beam structures, and AC170 aluminum alloy is primarily responsible for exterior panel edges and side body coverings.
